How to be a model: Grooming tips for aspiring models

blog

In today's modern world, a pleasant and a well-groomed individual is always welcomed by people from any sector. Being groomed is almost a lifestyle for people working in the corporate world but it is a necessity in the arena of performing arts - be it modelling or acting. If you are a well-groomed individual with a focused mindset then becoming a superstar will not be a dream anymore. If you aspire to be a mode, here are some tips on how to make a beginning, courtesy Jagnoor Aneja, a fashion choreographer and runway director. We got in touch with him to get some insights into the ABC of grooming for all aspiring models who dream of making it big in the industry and here are some of the vital points he listed out.
A - Appearance

Appearance is the first visual an individual sees in you when you enter a public space/meetings or auditions. Appearance does not mean your looks but also the way you carry yourself, how nicely ironed your clothes are, how polished your shoes are. Your appearance will also include your personal hygiene which includes good body odour, trimmed nails, trimmed hair and trimmed beard as per the occasion.

B - Behaviour

If you are an aspiring model, your behaviour towards people helping you to make it big is a major code of conduct during your journey to stardom. Behaviour includes your use of words, dedication towards your passion, your discipline while keeping in mind factors like time and punctuality while giving auditions or while reaching the exact call time during your shoots.

C - Communication

The way you talk to someone creates your image and impacts the thinking of the person whom you are conversing with. As an aspiring model, your pronunciation and diction play a major role while trying to express yourself during an audition. Your aura reflects in the way you communicate with people. Language is not an issue, speak in whichever language you are comfortable in, but make sure it is crisp, loud, clear and most importantly meaningful.

So, follow the ABC guide to groom yourself if you are an aspiring model. Once you follow the above-mentioned rules, more than half of your work is done.
